Set in 1937 in Florence where, under the menacing shadow of Mussolini, the
famous art historian, Bernard Berenson, and the notorious art dealer, Joseph
Duveen, have an explosive final encounter.
The Old Masters is the ninth play in Simon Gray and Harold Pinter's long
standing writer/director partnership. Previous collaborations include
Butley, Otherwise Engaged, Quartemaine's Terms.
