Pixie Lott stars in BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket
Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the classic tale of Holly Golightly written by Truman Capote and so memorably portrayed by Audrey Hepburn in the iconic 1961 film, is being given a new lease of life as a stage play with music in a sparkling, sophisticated production starring the multi award-winning Pixie Lott as Holly.
Adapted by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony and Olivier Award-winning playwright Richard Greenberg and directed by Nikolai Foster, this tale of vivacious, good-time girl Holly Golightly and her fantastical existence in 1940s New York City, is told through the eyes of a young writer, completely fascinated by this exquisite extrovert who every woman wants to be, and every man wants to be with.
With memorable songs from the era, this stylish production is set to capture the hearts of audiences and sparkle like a diamond in a Tiffany’s window.
Based on the novel by Truman Capote
Adaptor: Richard Greenberg
Director: Nikolai Foster
Designer: Matthew Wright
Music: Grant Olding

Review: Breakfast At Tiffany's Starring Pixie Lott
Breakfast at Tiffany's is currently playing a limited twelve-week season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, in London. I had high expectations of the show, but I came away feeling underwhelmed. Whilst Pixie Lott, who stars as Holly Golightly, is superb and acts as well as she sings, the overall show drags. There are some really nice songs in the production (Moon River and People Will Say We're In Love being my two favourites) which help to pick up the pace at times, but there needs to be more of this. It seems to me that the show half-heartedly commits to being modern, and artistic, but has missed the mark by a fraction, and this creates quite a clash with the more classic tone of the play: it is almost stylistic, almost down-to-earth, almost modern, and almost quaint.

REVIEW: Pixie Lott Glows In Breakfast At Tiffany’s But Leaves Audiences Indifferent
Pixie Lott steps into the iconic role of Holly Golightly, made famous by Audrey Hepburn, in a play adaptation of Truman Capote’s well-loved novella “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. The pop princess captures Holly’s surface level charm and shallowness; she swans around the stage with a playful elegance but ultimately fails to win the hearts of the audience with any of the complex emotional depth that the role requires. The production is aesthetically beautiful, the setting is 1940’s New York rather than the 60’s style of the film, and the costume design is stunning but the glitz and glamour doesn’t compensate for the real lack of depth to the central character.
